Humans have always communicated with each other in a number of ways; and human communication was revolutionized formerly with speech, symbols, writing and in the recent times with telecommunications and technology. With the passage of time, language has emerged as a powerful medium of communication. English language has become one of the most popular medium of communication in the globalized world. And English language teaching has become increasingly challenging. While, the invention of the computer, mobile technology and easy Internet access have been considered as milestones in the field of communication and also offer new possibilities in all aspects of human existence and so also in the field of English language teaching. The wide spread use of ICT- Information communication technology offers novel and innovative means of English language teaching. It opens new frontiers and makes language learning more interactive and learner-centric. The commonly used ICT tools are mobiles, internet, email facility, social-networking sites etc. One such popular tool is blog. A blog is similar to an online news letter with entries in descending order. Blogs can be written by individuals or groups and can have multiple followers. Entries made on the blog can contain links to websites, commentaries, images and search facilities. The popularity of blogs is constantly rising and blogs are used for all sorts of purposes, from sharing one’s emotions and secrets to discussions on sensitive or important issues to corporate and academic communication.The present paper focuses on the manner in which blog can prove to a powerful ELT tool and also wishes to study the existing blogs of English language teachers and put forth observations of the same.
