This
study was aimed to expose the attitudinal Pattern of Post Graduate students and
their Motives of Community Service The participants were two hundred and six
(N=206) Post Graduate students who completed Community Service survey scale
developed by Rekha Rani and Punita Govil . The results of the survey were then
arranged and analyzed by totaling its frequency and scores as well. The data
were then statistically compared to ascertain difference, if any, between male
and female in terms of their attitude towards community service, utilizing t
statistics and some descriptive statistical techniques like skewness, kurtosis,
mean, median, SD were also used as well. Results of the study indicated a very slight
difference between male and female which was not able to reject the null hypothesis
e.g. there is no significant difference between the boys and girls in terms of
their attitude towards community Service as the data obtained regarding is not
that much adequate to be statistically significant. The study also revealed
that the majority (42.72%) of the respondents expressed to be neutral regarding
community service while only 15.05% indicated to be in favour of community
service and surprisingly a good numbers (22.33%) of participants shown alarming
unfavourable attitude in serving community.
Implications and suggestions for further studies and some
recommendations regarding are discussed.
