This
paper analyzed the parent’s perception on the linkage of education pertaining
to deal with indigenous issues in the backdrop of SDG 4. The finding was based
on the thematic analysis of the interview of ten parents. The sample for study
was taken through convenience sampling. From the analysis it was found that
parents were uncomfortable with the existing structure of education. They also
worried about the future of fragile region like ‘Ladakh’. The analysis of
narratives also indicates that education system of Ladakh does not preparing
the youth to overcome with the challenges with respect to the ecology and environment.
