The technological realm has become the first go for anything
and everything in this fancy world. Especially, when people are seeking
different methods and activities to spend their time during this lock-down,
Smart Phone is a saviour as staying indoors for a prolonged period of time is
definitely challenging for everyone. The present study aimed to explore the
trend and difference in smartphone usage behaviour of young adults (18-26 years
old) before and during lockdown due to COVID-19 Pandemic. For this purpose, the
sample included 30 Smart Phone users. The non-probability technique of
Purposive sampling was used. The data were collected using a secondary data
source. The Phone screen usage time was retrieved through users Screen time
details separately for two weeks before lockdown and three weeks during the
lockdown. The data were analysed using repeated-measures Analysis of Variance.
The results of the study revealed that there was an increase in smartphone
usage during lockdown when compared to the period before lock-down.
