Abstract:

Frauds/financial shenanigans, the subject researched is relatively a popular one these days and appears repeatedly in the headlines.  Why employees indulge in fraud is a very important question which needs pondering and investigation. Is it Greed, need or other factors? The risk of fraud is likely to be increased due to current turbulent economic and financial climate.  Fixed incomes, inadequate rewards, increasing prices , possibility of job loss,  corruption  and to cope up with the family pressure  for maintaining a dreamland life style, many employees  are forced/tempted to jump the boundary of legitimacy and indulge in deceitful activities. Our research is based upon a primary survey conducted and the statistical analysis will help us to get an idea of assessing the risk and in turn to help the organizations in implementing suitable precautionary and detective measures. Moreover, the perceptions brought to light would be analyzed by using Chi-square and Kruskal Wallis H test to find significant level.  Our research will offer some suggestions to improve employee’s satisfaction which can lead to healthier working environment and reduction in frauds.
