The paper aims to study the Dalit sensibilities as reflected in the autobiography of B. Kesharshivam. Autobiographies serve different purpose in different times and if autobiographies of Dalit writers are called as narrative of pain, they carry certain historical truth. These autobiographies served as moral source of inspiration for the Dalit movement. The normal trend of a general autobiography is to glorify the „self‟ and boast about the extra-ordinary qualities of self, while a Dalit autobiography talks about denial of opportunities, even to live as an ordinary human being. Here, the self represents all the Dalits who were crushed down because of their Dalit identity.
