The
present study explored the motivation of higher education teachers of Odisha to
use and adapt OERs. The study also investigated the enabling factors motivating
the teachers of higher education to use OERs. Ex-post facto method has been
employed by the investigator. Sixty teachers were selected as sample from four
different higher educational institutions of Cuttack and Khordha district of
Odisha by adapting stratified random sampling method. Data were collected
through a Questionnaire for teachers. The finding of the study revealed that
motivation related to social/ altruistic, learning, access, cost and time,
collaboration, individual benefit, OER technology and knowledge and usage have
significant contribution towards use and adapt OERs. Teachers’ use of OERs is
largely influenced and motivated by intrinsic values.
