The
concept of peace has changed throughout recorded history as different groups
and individuals have struggled to realize a harmonious state of existence. In
the contemporary world understanding of peace vary from country to country and
within different cultural contexts. Peace education emphasizes empowerment and
nonviolence and involves building a democratic community, teaching cooperation,
developing moral sensitivity, promoting self-esteem, and stimulating critical
thinking. This paper is to know zeal of educator to achieve all of the above
steps with great efficiency and effectiveness while teaching peace. This paper
reveals the enthusiasm for peace education of the educator. EQ (Emotional
Quotient) of the teacher would also be analyzed in this paper. Finally, this
paper will give some glimpse of capability of teachers to achieve knowledge,
skill and attitudinal aims. A questionnaire was developed to collect the
required data. It was divided in two parts, demographics of respondents and
peace education, for ease of understanding. Except demographics all other
information were collected with the use of 7 point Likert Scale and the 4th
and the last question was developed with 7 point Semantic Differential
Scale.Sample Size was 100 Educators and Trainers from the various Schools and
Training institutes of Ankleshwar and Bharuch. Statistical Package for the
Social Sciences (SPSS 17) and Microsoft Excel 2010 were used as Data Analysis
Tools. Normality check, Measures of variability and measures of association, t
statistics etc. were used as test statistics. Within certain limitations
concluding paragraph of this paper says Educators in Ankleshwar and Bharuch are
not passionate to achieve Knowledge, Skill and Attitudinal aims of Peace
Education.
