The purpose of
this empirical study was to develop and determine the efficiency of Computer Assisted
Instruction (CAI) for tenth class students in biology. The instructional
material was developed using Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 on seven human organ
systems. The developed Computer Assisted Instructional Material (CAIM) has been
tested to find out whether it truly met the objectives expected or not.
Considering the opinions of the subject experts, computer experts, and
educational technologists, CAIM was revised to its best. The content validity
of CAIM was estimated through the subject experts and educational
technologists. A sample of thirty
students of the tenth class was selected purposively from a CBSE affiliated
school of Kurukshetra. Additionally, Criterion-Referenced Tests (CRTs) as pre-test
and post-test were also developed to measure students’ achievement before and
after CAI. The overall gain ratio value
on CRTs comes out to 0.77, which shows the effectiveness of CAIM.
