INDIA’S SECURITY CONCERNS AND STRATEGIC INTERESTS IN THE WESTERN INDIAN OCEAN REGION

Abstract:

This paper seeks to study the India’s security concerns and examines its strategies in the western Indian ocean region. The paper is divided into four parts. The first part defines maritime security. Second part deals with importance of western Indian ocean region for Indian maritime security. The third part undertake India’s strategic interests in the region while fourth part examines how far India has been successful in maintaining security relations with the countries of the region.
