This important research article analyses the
interrelationship between community-based sport tourism and physical activity
initiatives. The primary aim of this study is to examine the impact of
community-based sport tourism on physical activity promotion, regional
development, social participation and sustainable tourism vision through
selected European secondary source research The study is descriptive and
critical in nature. Secondary data from evaluation reports and review articles
are examined objectively the reviewed literature indicates that active
participation of local communities, coordination among sport tourism agencies,
well-organized planning of outdoor sport activities and sustainability-oriented
policies are key factors for success of sport tourism initiatives. Preserving
local sport identity can reduce physical inactivity, promote public health, and
strengthen tourism development Overall, the conclusion is that community-based
sport tourism should not be seen as just a tourism activity, but a
multidimensional tool for public health, social inclusion, environmental
awareness and sustainable regional development
