REVISITING INDIAN KNOWLEDGE SYSTEMS (IKS) UNDER NEP 2020: A THEMATIC REVIEW OF GOVERNANCE, ECONOMY, AND EDUCATIONAL TRANSFORMATION

Authors:

Ranita Banerjee

Abstract:

National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommended integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into education system and governance. Researcher investigate multidimensional relevance of IKS, emphasizing Kautilya’s Arthashastra, as a guideline for present politics, economics, and management. IKS principles such as Dharma, Artha, and Lokasaṃgraha can help epistemic decolonization, promote sustainable development and develop self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat) as is observed from reviewing empirical articles. Review concludes that while institutional challenges like faculty capacity and resource scarcity exist, IKS integration will develop culturally rooted yet globally competent citizens for a "Viksit Bharat 2047".
