Abstract:

In this research, the researchers selected adolescents aged 11 to 19 years studying in grades 10 to 12 in state and independent school in Barmer district of Rajasthan to study emotional maturity. The non-probabilistic quota sampling technique was used to collect the sample data. A total of 400 students were randomly selected from 20 state and independent schools as a sample. The EM-scale, developed by Dr. Tara Sabapathy, was used to study various components of EM, including introspection, Composure, Veracity, Restraint, Assimilation, and Congruence. The statics data were analyzed using the mean, SD, ANOVA, correlation coefficient (r), t-test, Z-test, and p-value. The result of the statistics data show that the F-value from the ANOVA test was found to be 2.249, which is less than the tcri in the F-table (tcri>tcal), therefore our null hypothesis is considered true. The Z-test value of state and independent school is 0.2574 and the p-value at 0.05% and 0.01% confidence level is 0.401 and 0.416 respectively, whereas the calculated t-value (tcal) for adolescents from state and independent schools was found to be 2.439.  Here tcal is higher than the tcri i.e. (tcri<tcal). Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected.
