The 18th century masterpiece Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s
Travels (1726) is a satirical work of art pointing at political, economic,
and moral problems of England in the form of a funny travelogue. The social and
satirical world of Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa, and the land of the
Houyhnhnms depicts the political power and cultural relativity of 18th
century England in the novel.
The present paper
analyses the thematic concerns of the novel besides the textual analysis of the
four worlds of Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels, which he represents
in this satirical masterpiece, connoting the social issues and political interpretations.
In the present paper, an attempt has also been made to analyze this canonical
text since it is not just a travel narrative but it is also a symbol of
philosophical and political concerns.
