The pursuit of higher education among Afghan students in foreign
universities is often accompanied by different challenges related to
educational achievement and adjustment. This
study aims to find the factors which influence on educational performance and
social adaptation among Afghan students, with a particular focus on cultural,
linguistic, psychological, and socio-economic dimensions. Through a
comprehensive related literature, quantitative and qualitative data gathered
from students through interview and survey. The research identified key
obstacles that hinder academic success and integration into university life. Findings
of the study show that language barrier, socio-economic problems, cultural
differences, and limited institutional supports are main factors that affect
educational achievement of the students. In order to address these challenges,
the study proposes different strategies including language proficiency
programs, mentorship initiatives, and culturally responsive support services. Universities
may create a more welcoming and encouraging atmosphere by practicing these
strategies, which will eventually improve Afghan students’ academic performance
and general well-being. Higher education
institutions can adopt policies and procedures that support social inclusion
and academic equity by using of the data which gathered from this study.
