TEACHING APTITUDE OF B.ED. TRAINEE AND ITS INFLUENCE ON THEIR PEDAGOGICAL PERFORMANCE: A PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION IN TRIPURA

Abstract:

Teaching is not only art but also science. The ability of teaching is called aptitude. The word ‘Aptitude’ comes from the word ‘aptos’ it means fitness for. This study is a preliminary investigation and cross sectional study on teaching aptitude and its influence on their pedagogical performance. This study is conduct in west Tripura district. Researcher make five objectives and three null hypotheses for conduct the study. In this study researcher select the sample size of 100 B.Ed. trainees with the help of gender including the study stream of arts, science and commerce by using stratified random sampling technique. The data was collected through a standardize tool- ‘Teaching Aptitude Scale prepared by Dr. R.P. Singh and S. N Sharma from tow well known institutions one is Tripura University another is IASE, Kunjaban. Collected data is summarized through percentage, t- test, co-efficient of correlation and chi- square. The finding of this study is like:  Most of the B.Ed. trainee in Tripura has average level of Teaching Aptitude. Most of the B.Ed. trainee in Tripura has very good pedagogical performance. There is small mean difference exist between the genders of B.Ed. trainee in Tripura in regards their Teaching Aptitude. A perfect and positive correlation also exists between Teaching Aptitude and Pedagogical performance of the B.Ed. trainee. There is exist a significant difference between B.Ed. trainees belongs from science, arts and commerce stream in regards their Teaching Aptitude.
