The
process of urbanization has a dramatic impact on rural areas, changing social
structures, economy, and landscapes in India. This study of Thava
Village located in Gujarat state of Indian subcontinent, as a case aims to
investigate how urbanization affects rural architectural identity. Like many
other rural settlements, Thava Village has seen substantial
transformation as a result of urbanization, modernization, and the fusion of
country and urban architectural forms. In addition to taking into account the
adaption of contemporary infrastructure, the research attempts to examine how
these changes have affected the preservation of historic architectural forms,
materials, and cultural activities.
An intimate understanding
of the interaction between tradition and modernity in Thava's
architectural landscape is achieved by looking at both historical influences
and recent advancements. The study explores how the community's planning
methods adapt to shifting socioeconomic circumstances while attempting to
preserve cultural continuity. The research emphasises the value of
modernisation and sustainable growth while embracing architectural heritage
preservation through this story.
