National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) emphasizes holistic learning,
creativity, and critical thinking. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics) education plays a crucial role in achieving these goals. This article explores the
integration of Platonic solids into the curriculum as a catalyst for fostering
critical thinking skills in STEM education, aligning with the goals outlined in
the NEP 2020. We discuss their significance,
integration into curricula, benefits, and implementation challenges. This paper
will also extend to discuss the processes to integrate with curricula, practical applications, and
potential benefits of integrating Platonic solids into STEM education,
emphasizing their role in nurturing a generation of creative, analytical, and
adaptive thinkers to stimulate curiosity, promote inquiry-based learning, and
cultivate essential skills such as logical reasoning, spatial visualization,
and mathematical analysis through the visualization of implementation
challenges and misconceptions.
