source of socio-economic development of any country. It promotes international
understanding and trust among peoples as well as provides variety of social
benefits. Today tourism has evolved into a significant socio-cultural and
economic force.
Aurangabad is an
important city of Maharashtra State. Now it is also called ‘Chatrapati
Sambhajinagar.’ There are many cultural heritage sites such as Ajanta and
Ellora caves, the famous world heritage sites in India and Bibi ka Maqubara
known as ‘Taj of South’, Daulatabad Fort, and some religious places like Shri Ghrishneshwar
Temple, one of the twelve jyotirlingas and so on. According to the fact, there
is a need to study the impact of tourism on society, economy and culture to
identify the developmental potential of Aurangabad district.
This study is
mainly focuses on the multiple aspects of tourism impact, especially in
Aurangabad district. To fulfill this aim, I am collected both the primary and secondary
data. The primary data is coming by the direct observation and my own
experience and the secondary data collected from the central and state government
tourism based reports, books, articles, journals and other literary sources,
and applying content analysis technique to understand the multifaceted impacts
of tourism in Aurangabad district. Thus, both datasets provide me authentic
information, which enhances the quality and productivity of this study.
