A CRITICAL ANALYSIS ON EMERGING TRENDS OF EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH IN WEST BENGAL WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE OF SIKSHACHINTAN

Abstract:

Improvement of Educational Research lies on the analysis of domain specific research activities. Subsequently, innovation and promotion leads to the emerging trends of the Educational Research. So, the distinctive aim of this research study is to investigate the emerging trends of Educational Research in West Bengal on the basis of the articles published in the journal ‘Sikshachintan’ during 2006-2016. It is a kind of Meta analysis type of work in nature. The specific purpose of this study is to highlight and assess the emerging trends of Educational Research. To achieve these purposes, a detailed content analysis has been done. Accordingly, the articles are carefully investigated and categorized according to the selected criteria of research specific domains. Then these qualitative data were analyzed inductively, categorized according to already existing or emerging themes. Apart from this, some parts of the analyzed data are presented numerically through graphics. The results showed that in order to improve the quality of research in the field of educational research; research studies should have a theoretical basis, the mixed method of research (qualitative and quantitative) should be used to complement each other. This article is an endeavour to assess critically the exact scenario of research in West Bengal in the domain of Educational Research, so that one can easily assume it.
