In the wake of such calamities, social workers emerge as indispensable actors in disaster management, providing vital support to affected individuals and communities. This article delves into the critical role and functions of social workers in disaster response and recovery. It explores their immediate response and assessment capabilities, emphasizing their unique expertise in delivering emotional and psychological support to survivors. The article highlights how social workers facilitate access to essential resources, their adeptness in community organization and mobilization, and their role as advocates in influencing disaster policies.
