Abstract:

From the end of the eighties, there was a change in the concept of development. The concept of sustainable development was developed. As the idea of civil society is strengthened, this idea of economic development is widely criticized. This economy-based development concept changes to rights-based development concepts such as equality, poverty alleviation. Development is a holistic process and one part of it is rural development. Gandhiji's  concept of development emphasizes the restructuring of the rural economy and tells the story of the overall development of India which is still relevant today. The present discussion will highlight the relevant aspects of Gandhi's thought on rural development;
